Keystone Place - Centreville, MI

KeyStone Place, Inc. opened its doors in March of 1996 to provide emergency shelter and services to homeless families with children.  Since that time, it has housed over 600 families.  Its facility was over 100 years old.  During 2002 & 2003, KeyStone Place, Inc. turned away 71 families due to lack of space.  This project has expanded capacity by over 200%, reduced maintenance expenses and is fully handicap accessible.  KeyStone Place, Inc. is far more than an overnight shelter.  Residents are not allowed to come for a just an overnight stay or stay on a sporadic basis, but must participate fully in the program requirements to move towards long-term sustained independence.

"As a director of a smaller organization, I write all of the organization’s grant proposals except one. We hired Capital for Compassion to write a proposal to request $140,000. They got us $245,000. Their fees were the best investment we ever made."
