Helping Up Mission – Baltimore, MD

Capital for Compassion secured three AHP grants for a three phase project of Helping Up Mission.  In 2006, the $4.9 million Phase 1 received a $500,000 AHP grant to acquire and rehabilitate a four story facility with 210 housing units.  In 2008, the $7.1 million Phase 2 received a $1.0 million AHP grant to replace a 100 year old building with 113 new housing units.  In 2010, the $4.9 million Phase 3 was awarded a $1.0 million AHP grant to restore a three story building with 90 housing units.

In 2019, Helping Up Mission’s $46.6 million House of Freedom received a $2.0 million AHP grant and $1.8 million in NMTC funding to build a seven story facility for women and children, with 260 beds for emergency and transitional housing, a childcare area, classrooms, wellness center, mental health services, training center, and recreation area.
