Atlanta Mission’s $2.3 million New Start project was awarded a $1.0 million AHP grant in 2010 to expand the men’s shelter with 32 two-person suites, a dorm with 50 beds, a community kitchen, dining room, and a recreation room.
In 2020, Atlanta Mission received $3.0 million in NMTC funding as well as a $500,000 AHP grant to create the $17.5 million Restoration House, the first ever low-barrier shelter for women and children in Atlanta. Features include 102 beds, two classrooms, a childcare area, case management rooms, a clothing closet, and an onsite medical clinic.
