Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries – Kalamazoo, MI

Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries received a $500,000 AHP grant in 2004 to fund the $2.9 million construction of a new wing for its men’s shelter, adding 118 housing units for emergency shelter and 43 units for the residential recovery program.

In 2019, a $1.5 million AHP grant and $2.2 million in NMTC funding financed the $12.3 million expansion of the facility for homeless women and children, fathers with children, and youth.  The renovated building features 242 beds, multipurpose rooms, community rooms, a medical recovery room, day room, offices, and reading room.
